 This HDMI over CAT6 data cable transmitter receiver pack is just the thing for long 1080P runs. Offering the same performance as a passive cable but making life simpler for the installer.

 It consists of two parts. A transmitter that you would plug a HDMI cable into from the "monitor out" of the HDMI switching AV receiver or HD DVD player etc, and a receiver unit who's HDMI out plugs into the remote projector or LCD/Plasma panel.

 Two parallel runs of CAT6 are all that is needed in between the two units. Naturally normal RJ45 connectors, short patch cables and wall plates can be employed for a neat and simple installation where cable needs to run through wall cavities.

 And yes there is something other than smoke and mirrors inside the unit. Quite a bit if high tech electronics actually. I have tested the unit with 45 metre runs of CAT6 at 1080P but recomend 35 metres as a safe max for full HD.
