I forget what these are called but they were impressive. Very much like live music and still quite clean and smooth. The giant tubed Kronzilla's probably helped.
Nelsen Pass is still at it. Here is a serious pile of Pass!
Seas versus Lowther? A very serious handmade driver from Seas that is made in small quantities of 200 pieces by their head assembly woman. Obviously a serious attempt at a fullrange high sensitivety design as per every Lowther driver made. From memory price was approx $1500ea per unit! I'll stick with Spendor, but it did look very nice indeed.
There is no mistaking where this turntable picture was taken.
Kuzma? Never heard of it but it looks impressive. As per the Munich show earlier in the year and the Munich show this year (apparently, I didn't have the pleasure of visiting as I was moving shop, damn!) turntables of a somewhat over the top nature, abound. Frankly if you are not spending new BMW money on your record player you are simply not serious about HiFi.
Arghh!!! No thats better. Mind you I found the sound as a whole a smidge underwhelming. Maybe a touch too much of a good thing. A bit like a full Naim system the sound can become too much of an example of the family sound of the company rather than a well balanced system with good allround performance rather than excelling in a couple of particular areas.
After a hard day looking and listening to the finest HiFi in the world this is the view that greets you if you walk out onto the front balcony at the Venetion.
Drive north East out of town for an hour or two and you will end here and you maybe hungry as you drive into town. Your hunger may subside once you find out what the name of one of the local favourite eating establishments is named.
Early January in the northern hemisphere is winter, right! Mmmm, sure is. Especially at 5000 feet in Monument Valley. Later on this particular day (10 at night) I had to get something out of the car and checked the temp gauge on the dash. It read 24 but that wasnt Centigrade... Spectacular though and worth the drive through Zion National Park and other varying scenary to get there.
Eee Orr!
PS. I cannot seem to find the pics from "THE Show" which is the other show on at the same time as the CES. It is serious (read crazy) high end gear only . Maybe I was too wide eyed and forgot to take some?
